This brilliant, flashing ripple effect is picked up by the bird pests as an unsettling danger signal. Whether seen as a predator or a rival for food or space, birds will not ignore this potential menace. It's properties keep unwanted bird pests away in several ways.
Pest birds are also deterred by the metallic noise the material gives off when caught by the slightest breeze.
Each pack contains 30 meters (100 feet) of tape. For best results always apply repeller ribbon before bird damage begins.
When installing the product on buildings and other man-made structures where birds have infested, a thorough clearance of all droppings, nest site debris and artificial food sources is essential prior use, to ensure a suitable level of deterrence.
If this preparation work is not undertaken the pest birds will over come their fear of pretty much anything to return to their nest site or to an artificial food source, they also home to the scent of their droppings.
For protecting fruit trees and vines, or deterring birds from roosting in the eaves of buildings, cut the tape to 1 metre lengths and hang. For protecting vegetable crops, seedlings and newly seeded lawns stretch lines of tape between posts at a height of 0.5-1 metre above ground level. (See attached diagram)
Alternatively, use a "maypole" arrangement by stretching lines from a tall centre stake and pegging them into the ground.
