PestFix stocks a brod range of ULV insecticides for treating flying and crawling insect infestations.
The term Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) (spraying) is used in the context of insecticide application methodology in the form of atomising or nebuliising the active ingredient in either a water-based or oil-based solution and then "misting" the affected area. Ultra-low volume application of pesticides can be defined as spraying at a Volume Application Rate (VAR) of less than 5 L/ha.
ULV spraying is a well-established space treatment technique in public health pest control situations.
A major benefit of ULV application is high work rate (i.e. hectares can be treated in one day). It is a good option if all (or some) of these conditions apply:
- Large area of land or space to treat
- Rapid response / knock-down required
- Little or no water for making pesticide tank mixtures
- Logistical problems for supplies
- Difficult terrain: poor access to target site
