Insect Control

Found insects in your home or garden? Ants, flies, cockroaches, bed bugs, and wasps can quickly become a nuisance if left untreated. Choosing the right insect control product depends on the type of insect and where the activity is occurring.

At PestFix, we supply a wide range of DIY-friendly insect control products designed to deal with crawling and flying insects safely, quickly, and effectively.

Our range includes:

Not sure what to use? Many DIY insect treatments work best when the insect is correctly identified and products are applied to the areas where insects are active or nesting.

Looking for a non-toxic option? We stock a range of traps and monitoring products suitable for sensitive environments.

For fast results or established infestations, our professional-grade insecticides are trusted by pest control companies across the UK.

If you’re unsure which insect control product is right for your situation, our team is happy to help. Always follow product instructions carefully and choose treatments suitable for your environment.

Common questions

Why is gel bait better than spray for ants?

Spraying an ant trail kills the workers you can see and leaves the nest intact, which often makes the colony split and form new routes. Gel bait is carried back to the nest and shared, dealing with the source of the problem. It is slower to look like it is working but considerably more effective.

Can I treat bed bugs myself?

Realistically, no. Bed bugs harbour in structural voids, bed frames and furniture joints, so a consumer spray reaches the ones you can see and misses the population you cannot, pushing survivors deeper into the room. Whole-room heat treatment is the reliable answer and it needs professional equipment.

What does residual mean on an insecticide label?

It means the product keeps working after it has dried, so insects picking it up later are still affected. Residual products suit surfaces insects walk across. Non-residual products knock down what they contact and then stop, which suits flying insects and immediate control.

Is it safe to treat a wasp nest myself?

A small nest early in the season, reachable safely from the ground, with proper protective equipment, is a reasonable DIY job. A nest in a loft or cavity, at height, or already large is not, because disturbing it provokes a defensive response from thousands of insects. If anyone in the household has a sting allergy, treat every nest as a job for someone else.

Do I need PPE for insecticides?

Read the label, which specifies what is required for that product. As a minimum, most treatments need gloves and eye protection, and many need respiratory protection with the correct filter for the formulation. The label is a legal document, not a suggestion.
