How it works

The trap is made up of several miniature cells, and once placed in a suitable location, it creates an effective mimic of a natural harbourage, providing an attractive and enticing environment for bed bugs to enter.

Once they enter the trap, the bugs are not aware they’re becoming trapped because there is no glue present on the floor of the trap. They will continue to enter the harbourage, moving further up the trap towards the sloped roof until they are eventually glued to the ceiling. Once caught, the trap begins to exploit “self-amplification” to attract more bed bugs.

Self-Amplification

The slim design of the trap mimics a bed bug’s natural hideout. They enter, not realising they are becoming trapped because they are glued by their backs. The bugs don't sense they are in danger and so continue to release chemicals to communicate with other bed bugs that they are in a safe location.

No other trap on the market can offer this 'self-amplification' which occurs thanks to its patented design. Efficacy testing has shown that by exploiting these chemical signals, the Domobios Bed Bug Trap catches 60% more bed bugs than other leading traps. As it doesn’t rely on synthetic pheromones, the trap doesn’t ‘run out’ and, in fact, attraction increases over time.

Application recommendations

IMPORTANT: When placing the trap horizontally, ensure the cardboard surface is facing upwards so that the captured pest will be glued to the trap's ceiling. For vertically placed traps, the entrance should face downwards.

Beds:

For best results, when applying to the bed, three traps should be placed: one at the top of the bed and each side, between the mattress and the bed frame.

The trap’s entrance should face downwards (to prevent dust build up and improve longevity). Alternatively, the traps may be applied beneath mattresses and bed frames or stuck to headboards, legs or slats.

Other areas of the home, hotel rooms or hospital wards:

Place the traps, with or without the self-adhesive strip, to areas where bed bugs are likely to inhabit, are suspected, or where there is evidence of their activity (very small black dot droppings).

After a trap has been placed, it usually takes around 12 to 24 hours for the first bed bugs to be caught. If nothing is caught, and bed bug activity is still suspected, reposition the trap to another location. Once the first bed bugs enter the trap, many more follow as a result of the bed bugs' communication.
